About Me

After receiving an MA in Creative Writing and a PGCE in Secondary English, I taught English, Film, and Media Studies to 11- to 18-year-olds for several years. I now balance tutoring and mentoring teenagers with my passion for writing, while navigating the joyful chaos of raising my own children.

During and after the pandemic, I lived in Brooklyn, New York, where I discovered writing competitions such as NYC Midnight and Writer’s Playground. These timed challenges, with their strict deadlines and specific criteria, taught me to quiet my inner critic and embrace the thrill of creation under constraint. Praise from judges has fuelled my drive to write and submit more.

My short stories weave contemporary issues—misogyny, cronyism, and ethical media practices—into narratives that explore the complexities of familial and romantic relationships. I am also working on my debut novel, a young adult thriller set in the tense, insular world of a boarding school.
